So far, I am thinking of hanging 5 Christmas stockings off the garland wrapped around the banister rail.
Like this but without all the items on the floor.

I have a garland with a white and silver theme but I’m considering changing it this year and having it matching my wreath

That would look lovely, and people can still use the bannister the way it is done in that pic.

We don't have a bannister now, but I loved the one in our old victorian house, I used to have garlands with poinsettias right up the bannister and along the long landing. I only miss that house at Xmas!

We have a candy cane themed Garland that I made myself from tinsel because I didn’t want the ones that are more like a Christmas tree scratching the paintwork. I have wreaths on the doors as well 😁

That looks lovely, how did you stick the tinsel to the banister ?

Thank you. I have clear cable tie type things around the garland and hooked onto the bannister. They're thicker than a normal cable tie and can be tightened and loosened as required. I think I got them from B & Q a few years ago.
