Mystery phone calls

For approx the last 3 or 4 months I have been getting random calls to my mobile phone

They are always at strange hours, usually between midnight and 2am. A good few times I have picked up and there is a female voice, possibly with an NI accent saying sorry I have misdialled. When I don’t answer there can be up to 10 missed calls in a morning. As an example I have had 12 calls from this number over the last 2 nights. Last night I answered twice at 2am and it was the same person.

This doesn’t happen every night but sometimes can be a few days in a row and then nothing for weeks.

What is strange is every time it happens I block the mobile number they are calling from, but then a few weeks later they call again but from a different mobile number and so the call comes through. It is definitely the same person as I recognise the voice now. I have blocked at least 3 or 4 numbers from this person. Who has access to this many mobile phone numbers?

It’s starting to be a bit annoying. I don’t want to turn my mobile off on a night because I have elderly parents who may need to contact me. Equally I don’t want to change my number. Any suggestions please on anything else I could do?

Thank you

Odd.

Depending on what phone you have you may be able to restrict the calls that come through in quiet hours to those which you authorise.

If you have an iPhone, use the Do not disturb function?
Let’s you block calls except from those numbers you still wish to get, ie, your parents etc.

I agree because mine is still set from when I was working so only a few specific people can call me between 8pm and 8am so idiots calling me at midnight because a light stopped working didn't disturb me.

Wow what a mystery!

Looks like someone who wants to tell you something! Maybe ask her why she keeps calling you, then as the others suggested if that’s getting no where put on a selective DND.

It is likely to be a call centre that is randomly dialling numbers.

No, not during the night. Or with the same woman’s voice.

Just block the number and forget about it, not worth stressing over.
