How early is it acceptable to arrive for a dining reservation?
We have booked BOG on our first full day for dinner at 7.40, and was lucky to get that I guess!
My concern is that HAE Fireworks start at 9pm, and I don't really want to rush dinner to see the fireworks (or is it so quick service, that I probably wont have to rush?!). I keep trying to see if anything earlier is coming up but of course, no luck. Would it be OK to arrive at 7.15 say, saying that I am a bit early but would it be OK to dine now? What is the earliest people turn up? Thanks.

you can arrive at 7:15
but there is a 50/50 chance that the CM says come back in 20 and even if you're checked in at 7:15 your pager might not vibrate before 7:40 so you can show up early, but you have no guarantee it will get you a table before your ADR time. You'll most probably just wait outside until your ADR time. the only way is to try and get an earlier ADR Edited at 11:59 AM. |

Last time we went ( 2 years ago for lunch) you could prebook your food choices online.
If this is still possible then it may cut down you eating/waiting time?

You can only pre-book food for lunch and breakfast, not for dinner.
OP - you can turn up early and see what happens. We turned up early for lunch and they let us in, but when we turned up early for dinner (only 15 mins), we ended up waiting until it was our time anyway. On another occasion we turned up bang on the time of our reservation and ended up waiting 10 mins for our table anyway

It wasnt dinner but breakfast and another day lunch at BOG, We arrived 15mins early for breakfast and got in and were really surprised that we also got in 20 mins early at lunch.
It will all depend on how busy they are I guess. Last year we were told to come back in 15 mins.

Our experiance this year was this:
We arrived early at a few reservations about 20-30 minutes before. Checked in and asked if it was ok that we were early. No problem they said but all of the times we were seated after our reservation time so not sure if it was just busy or they don't let you go in early. |

Last time we checked in early and as we were walking down the buzzer went of before we got to door!
Is there any other day you could see HEA if you miss them? Don't forget after dinner you can go meet the beast too while the queue is never massive there might be one or two in front of you. |

My sister worked in a very busy restaurant. She told me it boils down to space. Say dinner starts at 6pm and 20 tables are sat down. 5 of them could be free after 45 minutes, 10 after 60 and 5 after 75
So if someone checks in at 6:45 they may get in. Others may have to wait until 7:15 That's a very crude example but if there's a table free, and someone is checked in, they'll fill that table asap

We were always advised to turn up 15-20 minutes before an ADR time anyway. Not sure exactly where that came from but we tend to stick to it. Sometimes we get taken straight away, others we wait and sometimes past our ADR time. Last year we turned up at BoG 25 mins early and they were running 25 mins late. I worried we'd end up waiting 50 mins but we got taken on time because we'd arrived early.

Thanks all, it seems to try it and hope for the best. There might be a couple of times we can see HAE, but it would be from Californian Grill or Narcoosees. The other time we are at MK is for MNSSHP, so HAE wouldn't be on. Fingers crossed for an earlier reservation becoming available (ha! ), or we can be seated quickly. Cheers.
