Premium car hire rates Sep 17
Hi - just about to book flights and was having a browse at car hire rates. We usually book a premium car from Alamo for 15 days and last year paid £421. I nearly fell off my seat when I saw the prices for this September - £850! I don't think it's the exchange rate, as it was pretty low last year - I can't understand why its so high - and such a big diffference between full size which is about £450.
Is something going on at that time that has pushed up demand (6/9) or have they reduced the number of premium cars? |

Supply and demand. They will have had a number of bookings for that period and the computer will have pushed the prices up. Book a full size and monitor the prices. If the Premium doesn't drop you are a winner. If it does cancel the full size and rebook/amend accordingly

Thanks - there's no way I'd pay £850 so Full Size it will have to be. If I book through Alamo Brits can I 'upgrade' online if I see a better premium price, or do I need to cancel and re-book?

Now the website has updated you should be able to amend. Those of us with 2016 bookings have to cancel and rebook
