Dublin connection time
I have seen flights with Aer Lingus from Manchester via Dublin with a 2hr 30m stop
Do you reckon this would be enough time |

When we booked a connecting flight with a travel agent she said they recommend a minimum of two hours. We usually work to that.

The website says 3 hours but we have just booked flights with Aer Lingus from MAN to MCO which have the 2hrs 30mins layover too, I presumed that as it is booked as a package they would hold the flight if you are delayed on the first leg but have since read a review on TripAdvisor from a person travelling from Scotland, their first flight was delayed and although they were assured the orlando flight would hold for them when they got to DUB the flight was gone! Yikes! Guess we have to hope for the best :-)))

What our TA said is the airline has an obligation to get you to your destination but will it may not be on the flight or class of seat you booked.

My post yesterday to a similar question. Speaking from bitter experience after our Bhx-dub flight was delayed, and our luggage missing for 3 weeks.
“I would never cut a layover shorter than 3 hours. The airline will sell tickets based on shorter layovers because they want to sell the tickets. If the connection is missed, they will get you onto the next available flight. It might be worth checking if there are any other flights with that airline to the same destination on the same day. That will give you an idea of how long you will be waiting at Dublin if you miss your connecting flight. There is also a risk that your luggage may not clear through the baggage handlers quickly enough if your Man-Dub flight is late. I would take spare clothes in carry on, just in case. No-one wants it to happen, but it’s best to be prepared. In terms of clearing customs and not taking risks, 3 hours should be fine.” |

IMO you need longer. If all goes well then it should be OK. But ig your inbound flight is late you will have problems. The big issue with Dublin is that getting seats on another flight can be very difficult.
Personally I would be going the night before. Way too much risk for me when a holiday is at stake. |
