Malaysia

Where do I even begin to look into holidays in Malaysia.
Have you booked with a tour operator or DIY.
I'd like to spend a couple of days in KL followed by time on a island either Penang or Langkawi. Which is best.

Any help really appreciated.

Thanks

My son lives in Vietnam and visited Malaysia from there, so I have no advice about how to book from here. He booked hotels through Agoda and his flights direct but of course that was from Vietnam.

He loved his holiday there, he spent time in KL and Langkawi. Langkawi looked amazing, his photos from there were incredible. I know he would highly recommend Langkawi. Hope you have a great time

Thank you. I've got this huge desire to go somewhere different to celebrate my " retirement" after 30 years in the Emergency services. It's for 2020 but would also be my Dd's 21st and DS's 18th.
That said DS's is not so adventurous with food ( he will eat curry/ Chinese) but sticks to what he knows, so it'd be a concern.
Would like to hear others points of view on the country.
Thanks

Hi

We are off in October for my 40th.

We staretd off by booking the flights, LHR to KL with BA.

Then we decided on the hotel in KL. We then looked at the surrounding areas and decided we wanted to visit Penang, staying for a few days in Georgetown and a few days in Batu Ferrengi. All of this is booked diy as it works out so much cheaper.

It looks amazing, there so much to see and do, we researched our trip using vlogs on YouTube and also reading on trip advisor. Im so excited i cant wait!

Hi

We are going to Malaysia at beginning of November, we are flying with Emirates and have a 3 night stop over in Dubai, then on to Langkawi and 24 hours in KL on way back. Emirates multi trip came in with best price of just under £500 for flights to KL and then booked internal flight to Langkawi for £53. Found hotels after reading various reviews on TA and am so looking forward to Langkawi as the beaches look amazing.

I spent a week in KL a couple if years ago! I did a trippy (limk is below!). I enjoyed it - a week is probably too long for most but as a solo traveller I can usually occupy myself!
