Oh Nimbus that’s so frustrating. My DD college has one person who oversees the whole process and gets them sorted but it had to go via DD tutor for a reference. Fingers crossed teacher gets a move on!
We are just waiting to hear about Oxford but as it’s not first choice it’s not as stressful as it could be!

At DD's school, the form has to go through several teachers it seems. Each of her subject teachers has to look at it and add their predicted grades and report (or something?). Then it goes to a central person who oversees it. So at least 4 people look at it, possibly more.
It seems to be stuck at her Biology teacher. I should add that obviously she still has until the middle of January before it needs to be submitted. So it's not like we're running out of time or anything. But, still, it's not a great example to set.

Ok so sat with DD today whilst she logged on to show me the UCAS website. She actually has an offer from Leeds. She thought it was an interview offer🙄. She has an interview in Liverpool next Weds. Do I go with her? What do you do whilst they are at interview? Any help/advice gratefully received.

I'm not going with my son to his interview days. I went to them all alone 20 odd years ago and he has to show he can be independent - which he is.
My sons interview days are separated so guests do one thing and applicants another - our yours like that? I'd only go if your daughter can't get herself there - how is she on trains etc |

Hi Nimbus I totally sympathise. DD's school has been next to useless by not explaining the process properly to the students. They were given the impression they had to wait for the teachers to provide them with their references before they send the application to UCAS, so they all waited. Only to have their Head of Year come round to them all on Tuesday complaining and asking why no-one had applied yet. Stating the students are supposed to send off their part of the application first and then the school fills out the reference section. DD told him "but we were told to wait for the school to do their part first, if I'd have known I'd have sent mine off weeks ago". Apparently he looked very sheepish and left the room! So now, like you we are hoping the teachers get a move on.

I think that sounds like a plan. DD has grown in confidence over the last year. I asked her what she wanted and she wants me to go for moral support. It’s a long train journey with 3 changes so I’ll keep her company then drink coffee! Keeping fingers crossed as it’s one of her favourites.

It’s LJMU John Foster Building. We went on the open day. Loved the city, really friendly. The course is Eng Lit and Drama. So hoping they make an offer after interview-keeping our fingers crossed.
Leeds has offered AAB with an A in English. |
