I wouldn't have thought so especially if small children teenagers maybe. Don't think I would like to be separated.

You wouldn't necessarily be separated. You would just all check in together with no pre booked seats.

With your example, delight are the extra leg room seats so you wouldn’t be able to book your kids in those and the adults in the normal seats. I’m guessing you’re thinking of doing classic and light as you don’t need all the bags?
I’m not sure if you can do it. You definitely wouldn’t be able to do it online.

Sorry that should have read light for the kids.

It does say you can book light and then add on a bag for £45.

Yes you can, that’s each way.

There was a thread recently about doing this, best bet is to contact virgin so that bookings can be linked as not sure you can do small children separately.

However if you do light for all and add on a couple of bags that may still work out cheaper. Virgin do keep seats back for light passengers so you it may be that you are all sat together with 1 child across or in front etc

For this years holiday we had 2 separate bookings, adults on reward flights, kids (3 & 12) on their own normal paid booking. Kids on a different booking is certainly possible. It was done via telephone and the bookings were linked. This was done last October, we had to go into each booking separately to select seats, which I was wary of, but which worked as we all sat together.

If you have to phone up to make the booking, you also have to phone up to check the price. This makes regular checking, such that you can book it when it feels cheapest, a bit of a pain in the backside. When we phoned to try for reward seats, we were pleased to get them, so got carried away and paid what they quoted for the kids. In hindsight if we'd gambled a bit and just booked the reward seats then come back for the kids when a sale was on we might have saved a bit, but it was also nice to be booked and sorted. I felt we'd paid over the odds for the kids seats, but the total price for adults and kids was still far better than anything else available at the time because of the reward flight element.

I'd compare the price of adding the bag both ways to the economy classic price which includes bag and seats...the light plus bag is probably more expensive.
