Annual Universal pass - advice please

Hi

I have just booked to go to Orlando at Easter and am going with the family in July.

Would I be better to

Buy an annual pass when I get there at Easter? Or

Buy the 14 day uk pass and upgrade there at Easter?

The uk ticket is 3 park because Volcano Bay is free but we are not fussed about having it on the upgrade.

Any idea of upgrade costs to a preferred pass please?

Thank you.

I woukd suggest you buy it as we do, on flexpay system. This is universals own system, where you pay 50% then the rest at a monthly rate, paid via yiur=r debit/credit card, all you do is turn up at the gate and get your annual passes

if you buy the 3 parks UK ticket, then you'll need to upgrade to a 3 parks AP

have a look at the current price for a 3 parks preferred AP, and substract the price (converted to USD) you paid for your 14 days ticket
that should give you a rough estimate of the upgrade price.

but, the real price will be quoted on the day you upgrade, there is no way to predict or give you a "quote"

I would wait for 1 of 2 things...

1) A decent AP offer - last year jan-Apr they were offering 15 months for price of 12. That might be useful to you.

2) A decent UK universal ticket offer. We got tickets from musement for £217 each. When we upgradef to AP they gave us $354 of value against each AP. So that was a bargain.

We upgraded 3 tickets to seasonal. That was $404 less $354. So $50 each. And 1 ticket to preferred. That was $504 less $354, so $150.

Though having said all that you might be best sticking with oprion 1 above as you cant downgrade a 3 park uk ticket to 2 park AP.

Thank you. I agree that it’s worth holding out to see if option 1 comes up again.

The only problem with the annual pass offers is that they usually exclude Easter and by that I mean when they add the 3 or 6 months free, you have to activate them by a certain date. This date is usually prior to the UK Easter holidays and therefore most people who travel at Easter from the UK will be excluded.

Would be great if the date was at the start of the hols as the pass would then cover both Easter hols, but im guessing they do this on purpose!

Thanks, that sounds like a bargain.

Unfortunately we are visiting in April and July so are affected by the blackout dates. We will have to get preferred passes.

Don’t know whether to just buy an annual pass at Easter or buy the uk one before we go and upgrade.

I’ll keep an eye on the Universal site.
