Going for 3 weeks - help and advice re: tickets.
We are planning on going for 3 weeks and I am just getting prices for tickets. We usually stay onsite but have opted for a villa this time as its more convenient for our family circumstances now.
I have looked at a range of options but wondered if I was missing a trick somewhere and what better place to ask than here. we want to do Disney (all parks and water parks), universal (all 3 parks), DC (seaward, Busch and aquatic). Anyone that has done this, what tickets did you purchase? and how did you manage to not (in effect) pay twice? Thanks for help and advice with this, it's very much appreciated.

Heya, we have gone with FloridaTix. Got the 21 day Disney pass (this is all parks/water parks/golf etc), you can get the universal 3 park ticket 14 days and then the discovery cove extra ticket which also has Seaworld, bush and aquatica.
The other way would be Disney 21 day, Flexi ticket then discovery cove separate but I think this way is a little more expensive...

We've gone 21 Day Disney and 14 Day Universal - like the flexibility. Could have done 14 and 14 but for what is a relatively small outlay for a 14 to 21 day Disney it gives us greater flexibility.

How many days are you thinking of spending at each set of parks?
The obvious answer is to go for 21-day Disney tickets and then 14-day Universal and 14-day DC/Seaworld tickets. Then stagger the start of the Universal and Seaworld tickets. That will more than cover you for the full 3 weeks. You could decide to get the 14-day Disney tickets instead and stagger the start of that too (eg. start the Universal tickets on day 1, the Disney tickets on day 3, and the Seaworld tickets on day 7). That would save you £20 per person but would mean you couldn't visit Disney at both the start and end of your holiday.

Thank you, this is probably the option we would go for, just wondered if there was a way so that we didn’t have to pay for al parks every day. Ideally 7 days for each group of parks but I’ve not been able to find any and it actually works out cheaper to get 14 or 21.
Thanks again.

We buy the 21 day Disney and 14 day Universal tickets. (This year have HHN, MVMCP, and NASA too). It allows us to be flexible with our park days. Our first and last day is always MK.

It's a bit strange and counter-intuitive but it often ends up working out cheaper getting 14-day tickets for each set of parks.
Neither Universal nor Seaworld sell 7-day tickets, so you can't get 7-day tickets for those. Universal does sell a 5-day ticket but this works out more expensive than the 14-day Explorer tickets. Also, that ticket has to be used within a 7 day period - you can't pick 5 days to visit over a 3 week period (for example). Similarly, Seaworld only sells 1, 2 and 3-day tickets plus 14-day tickets. You mentioned you wanted to visit Discovery Cove (DC) in which case you automatically get 14-day tickets for Seaworld, Aquatica and Busch anyway as part of your DC ticket. Disney does do a 7-day ticket and you could get that. At the moment the 2020 7-day ticket is £20 cheaper than the 2020 14-day ticket so there is a small saving there. However, often Disney runs a deal where the 14-day ticket is the same price as the 7-day ticket so I'd suggest waiting until that offer is on again. And admittedly I assumed you wanted to spend more than 7 days at Disney? Generally, it only works out cheaper to buy shorter tickets if the number of days are fairly small. For example, it can be cheaper if you only want 2 days at Universal or 1 day at Seaworld. Otherwise, if you want more than 3 days at any of the groups of parks then it tends to work out better to get 14-day tickets. BTW, this is sort of why I asked how many days you were thinking of spending at each set of parks.

Although we got an offer from Undercover Tourist recently where 5 days were cheaper than 14. It was either 2 days+3 free or 3 days+2 free (I forget which!) and it was significantly cheaper than the 14 day tix you can get over here. Not sure if this is a regular offer but it may be worth investigating.

Ah, yes. Good point.
UndercoverTourist (and other sellers, including Universal themselves) are currently doing some deals. For example, you can get a 5-Day 3-Park Base ticket for $263 (about £215 or so?). This doesn't allow you to park hop, has to be used before May 22, 2020, and can't be used over Christmas. If you want park hopping than a 5-Day 3-Park Park-to-Park ticket costs $323 (£265). These would be cheaper than a 14-day ticket. So if the OP only wants 5 days (or less) at Universal and is planning on visiting before 22nd May then these deals would be worth considering.
