Currency question

HI we are going to Florida in December. I am looking to get my currency sorted in the ext few days as who knows what will happen to exchange rates after Brexit! Anyway, thinking of taking some cash and some on a currency card. Are these widely accepted in Florida?
Thanks

Provided the card is Visa or Mastercard backed then it will be accepted everywhere.

What do people generally do with currency? I don't know whether to load up a card, take cash or a mixture of both

We always take about 200 in cash and the rest on card

This year we took $500 dollars in cash and used revolut and caxton cards, had no problem using them anywhere.

We have used a currency card on holiday in the past, but I'm terrified of losing it and us then losing thousands of pounds. So. We will be taking a Sterling card and a Halifax Clarity card for day to day use. Maybe a few hundred dollars in cash. We could, of course, just transfer small amounts in to a currency card every few days, but we've chosen the above instead

I just take my Clarity card and draw a few hundred $ from the ATM at MCO. Then use a combination of cash and card, being sure to have no cash left on our return. I take a Revolut card as back up. I haven't taken currency anywhere in years.

Edited at 10:21 PM.

If you are worried about losing it, you could get two cards, one each and you can transfer money over using the app if one card gets lost or stolen. I’d rather lose a card than the cash

Depending if we are onsite/have dining we would typically take $300-600 in cash and pay the rest on Halifax Clarity card.

We have a revolut card each, a clarity card, about $750 in cash and a barclaycard as a emergency back up with nothing on. Will use the clarity when we use what’s on the pre pay & cash and then pay it when we get back!
