'Girls Just wanna have fun tour' Oct 08

Hi all,
This holiday has been a long time in the planning and a few changes and events along the way.
Cast
Me - Paula 42, disneymad (6th trip)
DD -Abbie 13, disneymad (5th trip)
DSM -Norma 62 (2nd trip)

All of our previous trips have been totally different and I think that's the beauty of going to Orlando, when people say "AGAIN?" (you all know what I mean) I always reply that no 2 have been the same.

1995 DH and I went with DS (6) stayed in the Quality Inn Maingate on the 192, (Now HJ) We were one of the last hotels along that stretch then, we had a great time, never ever thought I would go to WDW only ever watching disneytime on a bank holiday, it was truly a dream come true. Only very slight issue was I was 8 weeks pregnant so felt a bit nauseous in the heat.

2000 We went back with our friend who had a DD a year younger than hours, we stayed in a villa in buenaventura lakes, didn't like being the tour guide all of the time "because you've been before!" Our DS (12) clashed with there DD (6) quite a lot, she was a bit of a brat with him always getting him into trouble to the air was tense at time. Fortunately we are still friends and we look back on the holiday with fond memories.

2002 The only trip we have had with just the 4 of us and it was propably the best, did what we wanted, stayed in the villa when we wanted and had a chilled out time. Again stayed in buenaventura lakes villa.

2005 the big family trip, 4 of us, db, dsil, dn (6) DD and DSM,we stayed at Tuscan Ridge. no major problems but I underestimated how long things took with so many people particularly when one was a smoker, DN was too scared to go on ANYTHING! :angry: and many days the atmosphere was tense me and DD ended up arguing a few times which is very rare, after one row he said just go with the flow and I promise we will come back next year on our own

2006 - the promise which was made extra special by having a savanah view room at AKL. Absolutely fantastic holiday only thing was DS didn't come (18 now and had a girlfriend! )

2007 I felt the urge to book again, the best thing about the 2005 holiday was MNSSHP so I decided I would like to go again for halloween. Booked in April 07 to go Oct 08, just 3 of us again as DS is now in the RAF.

July 08 DH applied to sit his paramedic exam, he has been an ambulance technician for 18 months, the course was rumourred to be January which was great. He passed his exam and the letter came inviting him on the course starting 15th September Decisions Decisions.
1. Defer his course - I wasn't keen on this, what if they don't run a January course? How wil you feel if your mates are a paramedic and your not. (update: the January course has been cancelled!)
2. Defer the holiday until Feb - DH wasn't keen on this -you have sacrificed enough already. DD- NOOOOO I want to go to MNSSHP.
3. Go on our own or maybe take a friend.
After pondering and asking you good people on the dibb we decided on option 3. We would speak to DD's friend parents about taking her (same people as 2000!) We went to speak to them and they had just booked a family holiday, the day before, for December, so sorry but no.
So decided we will go on our own.

In August DS graduated in the RAF and grandparents came along, they where asking about the holiday, by the end of the evening I got the impression that DSM was hinting to come with us so I ran it passed DD who's reply was "would I get more spending money?" So we invited her along and she was thrilled. We are now three weeks off, I really want to show her the magic of disney which I don't thinnk she fully appreciated in 2005, she loves musicals and we didn't see Lion King or Beauty and the Beast, i am also hoping to do cirque. We are only doing a week, no car and staying on site at CBR. So that's us, I am getting a Photopass so we can have plenty of pictures together, I am leaving the DSLR at home this year and just taking a point and shoot. We are dressing up for MNSSHP as pink ladies so say hi if you spot us. DH has arranged us all a basket form betsy which the other two don't know about. I haven't made any ADR's.
We also heard that a friend DD met on the cruise last year will be in Florida the same time as us so we are hoping to meet up with them.

Wish me look and feel free to comment or post suggestions to make it a special trip for DSM, or maybe I should just stop trying so hard and enjoy myself
