Many years ago when we had bought a new house, I went around with the tape measure to measure things up. One of those that automatically reels the tape in. It kept reeling it in which was quite annoying so I muttered (I very rarely swear) ”for F…s sake”. My then 3 yr old son sat on the floor in the same room but I didnt think he heard me.

A few days later, my husband is using said tape measure and DS walks up to him and says: ”can I play with the ’for F…s sake’?

We were walking through John Lewis lingerie department when my daughter was really young. She spotted the racks of pretty bras on display and said ‘oh mum, look at the pretty ……hoob covers!’ She obviously didn’t know the word bra so the next best thing was hoob (boob!) covers.😂 We still refer to bras as hoob covers now.🤣

I call the George Foreman grill a George Formby or sometimes a Ben Sherman. Just slip it in to the conversation to see if it gets noticed.

I am really enjoying this thread!

When we were renovating the house we put a patio door in between the conservatory and the kitchen with my Dad and DD said something about Grandad being in the "concernery"... When we asked what she meant she said "you know the room where he is always concerned".. So we now all call it the concernery 😂

Ds had an issue with pronouncing ‘l when he was younger
Caused a bit of embarrassment whenever he would see a big clock face when we were out 😂

You need one of these! I’ve had it since mine were born and wrote all those funny moments in. I love reading them and it’s great fun to get out when their boyfriends and girlfriends come round

Oh that is brilliant. I need to get one of those. I have so many funny moments that need writing down, if only to show my grandkids.

I was once trying to explain ‘hidden mickeys’ to a work colleague. I couldn’t get the words the right way around and kept saying ‘midden hickey’s’!
😂 that’s what they’re known as now!
