Happy 50th MK - or rather, Happy 40th Epcot!

I'm so glad I booked the 'extra' things early, as the car hire has now doubled and the first 4 nights at the Gaylord is now over $700 more expensive, I wonder if it's because they're expecting things to open up, and bookings increase soon - flights are exorbitant now.

We're still feeling very hopeful for mid September and have started to look at possible requirements for travel (tests, certification, vaccines, isolation etc) - it's so confusing, so I'm going to just wait until we hear properly!
We are both on the double blind Novavax trial and are both fully vaccinated, but as Novavax hasn't yet been accredited we were concerned that it would impact on travel - we'd be so mad if that was the only thing stopping us - so despite doubts we've also had our 1st AZ vaccine and the 2nd is in a few weeks so we both feel happier about it now.

I've done my last bit of planning - no more till I hear from Joe Biden, but it's not looking hopeful .

Really feel for you - we should have been there end of September for mine & MK’s 50th Birthday but decided last year it just wasn’t worth the worry and hassle of trying to make it happen. My fingers are crossed for you

Thankyou - I know we're far from being the only ones. We're ready to go if we can, and if we can't everything will get rolled over again (we already have the Wish booked for next Sept). The worst part for me is that since we were in MK on the day of the 40th anniversary we always planned to be there Oct 1st this year - and people can't get that day back. We'll all get there again one day!

It's getting closer - but so much further away!
6 weeks to go, and VA are cancelling 3 weeks out apparently, so we have 3 weeks for Joe to make a much awaited announcement - one way or the other! I really just want to know what's happening now.
I've booked a (cancellable) week in up Scotland 'just in case' for when we should be flying. Not exactly 3 weeks in Florida but it will be something to look forward to.

Fingers crossed for you. It’s a great idea to have a back up. Where in Scotland are you planning to visit?

We are looking at booking a London trip as a back up for October.

We went to London a couple of weeks ago just for 3 days - ate out, wandered the parks etc, saw a show and exhibition, and loved it!
We'll go to see DS and family on Arran for a few days - hopefully we'll get a hotel or ir will be their sofa!, Glasgow for a night (booked cancellable PI £66 with breakfast) - do shops and a gallery and have a meal with 'sort of' family, and Dunkeld House in Perthshire for the next few days it's lovely there, we haven't been for years (great 3 night package for a couple - scottish breakfasts, bottle of wine in room, afternoon tea and 2 dinners for £667). Needs cancelling or paying by 7th August so we should know by then.

Your back up plan, although not Florida, sounds lovely but fingers crossed for your first choice.

Our trip is cancelled We got the VA email today - so fed up at the moment (along with many others).
I will be planning for next September once I get through my 'cancellation to do list'.
I hope the borders open before next March (never thought I'd be saying that!) for our Caribbean cruise.
