Chance of US Being Added to Green List June?

What do you all think the chance of the US being added to the Green list come the next review the first week of June?

I'm not basing this upon anything, but I'm at 60/40 for it making it, and say 70/30 three weeks later if it doesn't make it on the next review.

I think June 21 further unlocking will go ahead irrespective of the Indian variant.

President Biden is here on the 11th June I believe.

Surely it's got to go green in June? 🙂🤞

U-S-A! U-S-A! 🇺🇸

I don't think it'll be added in the next review, but I think there's about 50% chance it'll be added late June (if there cases keep going down which seems likely). And I think by mid July there's about an 80% chance its Green.

I’m praying it does cause then i can start being excited about my September holiday without the hopes of UK/US restrictions peeing in my cornflakes 😂

I’ve my second vaccine on the 29th so will be fully vaccinated by the time my trip comes around 🤞🏻

My partner is gonna take some convincing to get his... think deep down he’s an anti vaxxer but without the crazy tendancies hahha

I'm probably being way over optimistic... but I like your way of thinking 🙂👍

Cases will keep falling here & in the US because of the vaccinations.

It is hard to stay positive at times... but if we got some firm news about the US letting us, I'd be bouncing off the walls with excitement 😅

I watched a YouTube video that someone put on here recently and it mentions that airlines need a minimum of a 1month notice. Don’t know if he was just speculating but suppose it makes sense considering how much planning is involved/required.

That makes total sense. You'd imagine there's a lot of maintenance checks to be done 🤷 I know our BA flight is already flying daily... but when they expand flights, yep definitely a lot of work you'd think.

Case rates in the US have dropped from around 50k a month ago to around half that in the last week and dropping in every state.

I fancy we’ll turn US green before they let us in if they are using the same methodology they are using for other countries.

There’s a people aspect here in terms of flight and airline staffing etc. Younger crew members might not have had both doses by July and there might be refresher first aid training etc required to be given. Can see where a month would pass very quickly when trying to ramp up to running daily flights.

Donal Kane on Twitter is tracking what each country has to make it to the green list and makes his predictions. He seems to think that the US is close to qualifying for green - but it will all be down to politics (on both sides).
