Apologies to those I poo pooed about T&Cs
Sometime last year, I made a comment on a thread somewhere along the lines of
“Who really actually reads the terms and conditions” Well, I do now Having had a few issues with the insurance T&Cs and flight terms and conditions, I am now converted. I always used to read the headlines but not the real small print. I’m not sure who it was but whoever you are I apologise. Xx |

I read them until I feel my eyes burning then I have to stop.
We should all do it though but we tend to live in the 'it'll never happen to me' world!

Its my job to read Terms and Conditions for recruitment companies and to advise where they do not meet legal requirements. I do tend to have a cursory glance at all of them now.
A couple of years back I placed a large online order at M&S for delivery to my home. Unfortunately I wasn't in when it was delivered so they delivered to a neighbour. The same neighbour had arranged for Yodel to pick up an item to go back to Amazon. A mix up at my neighbours and my parcel got given to Yodel. I called M&S and explained it to them and was told it wasn't their problem they had delivered. I accepted this at first as was trying to track the parcel down with Yodel and then a lightbulb moment and thought I should read M&S terms. Their terms stated that they were liable until they had delivered the parcel to an address that I had selected. Well I had selected my address and hadn't given any comments about - post over gate, leave behind bin, leave with a neighbour. I called M&S, quoted their terms and had my £200 order resent out to me.
