We use skin coloured kt tape to cover my sons when he wears it! Unfortunately he doesn’t get it on prescription yet so we use it sporadically when we think we need to make changes to the basal rates on his pump. If you you use a non stick barrier between the disc and the tape you can easily change the tape when needed and it helps keep it in place.

My son's T1 and 12 and uses a dex now, but used to have the libre. We always use rock tape (or cheaper generic kinesiology tape) to help it stay put longer. He doesn't really care if anyone sees it - in fact he loves going off on a long preach about T1 whenever anyone asks and loves to spread awareness and teach - but there are loads of flesh coloured tapes that would disguise it. You could try somewhere like the love handles, or top of bum, that may not be on show but will still scan through clothes too.

My daughter is also type 1 she was diagnosed at 10 and is now 20. She just has the regular test kit do you find this has helped? How does it work? Is there a needle or does it read off the skin?
If she is conscious then I’d go for a band which matches her costume on each arm to cover it. 😡at people who asked if she couldn’t cover it up (on holiday) - such a shame it made your daughter conscious. My daughter refuses to hide anything and I think that’s because I’ve always felt very ready for anyone to complain about it and I’d defend it to the hilt! I was in the hairdressers one day and for some reason my daughters diabetes came up and this woman was talking about a cruise she had been on and saying how there was this woman on the cruise who insisted on testing herself and injecting herself at the dining table. She was disgusted by this and thought the woman should...do it in the toilet...do it in the cabin before coming down to dinner...do it anywhere as long as this woman didn’t have to witness it! She actually thought I was going to see her point! It ended in quite a heated “discussion” |

Cut two slightly smaller white circles and strategically place them above to the left and right... do I need to tell this group what you end up with?

I’d put some glitter nail varnish on and make it a feature.
My DD (age 9) is also type 1. She wore her libre on her thigh which is now where she wears her Dexcom G6 but she doesn’t care/mind who see’s it. She is only 9 though so we’re not at that part of life yet. Whenever people have asked her she doesn’t mind, just tells them but again, she really isn’t fussed. It’s a shame she feels it’s going to be difficult for her to wear but if she really hates finger pricks/needles she should hopefully come to a compromise with you.

My daughter is really shy and not confident at all. However, get her on stage and she loves it, full of confidence and everything.
So the whole diabetes has been an issue in public for a long while, she would never test or let us inject her in public (this started to go worse when she started high school) The libre is amazing, there is a thing that goes into the skin that allows the monitor to read her blood. Far more technical than that lol This is a photo of the underside before it’s stuck on It’s so clever. She is allowed it on prescription because of her issues but some postcodes can get it regardless (the old post code lottery) It’s also great because she doesn’t have to mess about with test strips. She goes extremely shaky when her bloods start to drop and they would fly out of the tub and go everywhere. I have found test strips everywhere lol Now it’s test strip free 👍🏻👍🏻 |

I’m amazed strangers mentioned this to her on holiday. Really why would anyone do that? I really would be watching the dancing at a dance show and don’t think I’d find this a talking point. If it bothers her though I’d bling and glitter it up and make a feature of it. Looks like an amazing device by the way. I love that we have brilliant scientists. Good luck to your daughter.
