Smuggler's Run and ROTR - ride motion

Do either of these rides have a spinning motion (either real or simulated) or scenes where you look like you are up high, like Soarin' or FoP (presume you are flying through space at some point?) My mum can't deal with those on rides, so something like Star Tours, where you are zooming about through space is too much for her, even though it's a simulator. If it's just a very short bit she can close her eyes but if there's a load of flying/spinning etc. then she'll hate it.

I know I could Google it but I'm trying to find out whether she can ride it whilst staying spoiler-free for myself

Smugglers Run does have simulated high up scenes as you are “flying” the Millenium Falcon. I would think that your Mum’s reaction to that would depend on where she was sitting - maybe Engineers she might be ok
RotR has a little bit of spinning but there is also a drop
Hope that helps without spoiling!

Thanks! How big is the drop? (I hate drops too!) I don't like Tower of Terror drop but something like Hagrids is ok...

Oh dear, I've watched the ride on YouTube but didn't notice the drop, just the short swooping down bit at the end. Not sure it's for me now.

It might just be a little one though. And the fact that you didn't notice it is a good sign - there obviously weren't lots of people screaming! I was really nervous about the Hagrid's drop but afterwards I was like "was that it?"

I’d say it was about the same as Hagrid’s. You have me wondering now was it a straight drop or a “swoop” - I don’t really know! All I will say is I don’t normally do rollercoaster style rides. I won’t do ToT either as I hate drops. I did push myself to do Hagrid’s though as a massive Harry Potter fan. I loved it but I wouldn’t do it again! I’d happily ride RotR again though, over and over!
