Mobile Meal recommendations for NYE

We are at home for new year, it will be a quiet evening just myself, hubby and son.

I am so sick and full of party food and am tempted to cook a nice meal. What are you cooking? Am looking for inspiration

For Hogmanay I am cooking steak and chips for DH, DS and my parents who arrive for new year. Like you we have had enough party/buffet food and any left over turkey and ham are already in the freezer.

We will have cheese and biscuits later in the evening whilst waiting for midnight.

We are then on New Years Day having a 3 course dinner so will be back to left overs on Thursday then back to normal from Friday except there is so much chocolate in the house and past experience says we will still be eating that for many weeks to come as we don’t eat a lot of chocolate.

Spending it with 2 friends at their house and we are doing a seafood starter and the cheese board, they are doing chateaubriand and dessert, and we have champers and good red , splitting the cost but far cheaper than going out for a meal.
In the past when it's just been 2 of us we've done a meat fondue which is always good

Think about how much time you want to spend cooking versus a recipe that can go in the slow cooker or oven

Great ideas! I think we are swaying towards a cold meat/cheese/bread board. Maybe with some stuffed olives and grapes.
