Kennedy Space Centre with space pass
Hi,
Looking at booking a day trip her in August. We are staying onsite at Disney with no car so I'm looking at the tour with transportation option. I've noticed the tickets have a space pass option which includes dinner with an astronaut and a bus tour. This will be my families first visit to the space centre ( I went 30 years ago and remember it being a full day), should I book the standard tour or would you recommend going with this option? My children will be 13 and 10. I'm just wondering if this is going to be too much for 1 day as we've not been before and if there will be plenty to keep us occupied with the standard option. Thank you |

There will be plenty to do and see with the standard option. However, we did the lunch with an astronaut last October and really enjoyed it, and since you will need to eat at some point anyway, it's a good thing to combine with this. I assume the bus tour is the in depth one. The advantage of this over the standard tour is that you get to actually get off at various points and get additional information. You still end up at the Saturn V Centre the same as you would with the normal bus tour - again, you'll want to do the bus tour anyway, so doing the more in depth one kind of makes sense! I guess it depends a bit on the price difference and also how "in to" space you are your family are.

It can be difficult to fit absolutely everything in anyway, so I think it's worth deciding your priorities. We had plenty of time to do Space Shuttle Atlantis (definitely a must-do) and this included the Shuttle Launch Experience, to explore the Saturn V Centre and the Rocket Garden in addition to the astronaut lunch and bus tour. We didn't do the Heroes and Legends/Astronaut Hall of fame, Journey to Mars or the IMAx films. To us though, seeing as much of the behind the scenes stuff and the actual exhibits will always be preferable to watching films.
