Car with hotels or RV?
I am currently planning a West Coast trip for a big birthday next year! I had always thought we would hire an RV and travel that way, yet after reading your amazing posts on here, I'm wondering whether we should drive and stay in hotels?
Here's my thoughts: RV Advantages: - less packing/unpacking - more comfortable way of travelling - easier to prepare food - toilet on hand (!) Disadvantages: - not as easy to drive and park in busy areas - not as many options for campgrounds as hotels We are planning a route of: San Diego > Los Angeles > Disney > San Francisco > Yosemite > Los Angeles for flight home. We will be stopping along the way at beautiful places such as Monterey as suggested by you wonderful people. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this? Edited at 03:00 PM. |

With what you are looking to do I would say car, if you want to do say 3 days Yosemite then if you want to drive to for instance Tioga pass you have to pack all up drive on very narrow roads and in the evening unpack again. Only other option is to do as the locals do and pull a car behind you, cost will rocket for this type of trip.
Big birthday nice hotels or airbnb. |
