Rope drop questions at MK, HS & AK
It’s will be 3 and a half years since our last trip by the time October 30th rolls around and a few things have changed. Can anyone guide me on a few random park opening questions:
- MK : if it’s a 9am opening what time does Main St ‘open’ for us to access with the kids. I’m aware you’re kept behind ropes to the lands under official opening. - AK : pandora rope drop - if my husband (or I - one of us will have the two little kiddies) decide to try and get on standby for FOP, what time do I realistically need to be there for & are there any best ‘tactics’? - HS : same question but for slinky? Feeling a bit clueless on what is usually a specialist subject Edited at 04:56 PM. Reason: Spelling |

For MK, Main Street is open an hour before opening.
Sorry to jump on with another question but does anyone know if the Mickey and Tinkerbell character greet is open then? or are there any characters about during this hour? |

If the railroad is back up and running at MK then they may go back to the old way and have the opening party on the train again so you may not even get into the park at all until.opening time.

We were there for the extra early hours last October and they kept us outside MK right until it was opening time but maybe that was because it was so early? Otherwise, it seems to be an hour before opening from what I’ve read.
AK - an hour before it opens. We didn’t do it ourselves as we had FPs but I’ve heard it’s a bit manic and you definitely need to be there early. HS - this is another one when I think you have to be there a good hour before it opens at least. People might be split between Smugglers Run and MMRR too but Slinky still seems very popular. Although this all depends on whether RoTR is no longer using boarding groups by Oct and that’s where everyone will be running to at rope drop! |

I got to HS at 7.30 last week for 8am opening. They had let guests through already and people were heading in different directions. I went to toy story land slowly and they hold people back and then divide them into rides. Took about 1 hour to get on slinky.
You can get your boarding pass anywhere in the park At AK I was there at 8.45 for a 9am opening. Not sure what time they let people in but by 9.09 FoP was at 180 minutes though I dont think that was accurate as the queue was only just in the land.

I’m not even thinking about rope drops yet. I think it will be wise to wait to see what advice the theme parks are given before they re-open them. Many things will change for the next few months in regards to the Covid-19 outbreak. We may all have to re-evaluate how we interact with others for a while when those places we used to enjoy adjust to the new normal.

hi we were at Disney Studios Saturday before last. We were staying at Animal Kingdom. We got up at 5.00am and were at the studios before 6.00am to make sure we got fast passes for Star Wars. It was packed. At 7.00am they opened the gates and everybody went different ways. We headed for Micky & Minnies runaway train. At 8.00am they release the fast passes for Star Wars we were lucky we got ours. You must be in the park to get the fast pass. It took 34 seconds for the fast passes to go. We got on the new Micky ride at 8.05. When we came off the wait time was 210 minutes
