It took longer getting the lift to the ground floor than it did to walk to the parks, when we stayed last year. Read into that what you will

Thanks Bozza! How far in advance were you able to book, they are great prices, just looked & nothing beyond June yet, hoping for October

Thank you all for your advice. I'm currently sat reviewing hotels and there's a few front runners but we're definitely swaying more towards staying within walking distance of the parks.

Does anyone have any reviews of The Anaheim Hotel?

Might be worth a watch of the Lodge guys on you tube. They recently did a report on Anaheim including where they stayed.

We stayed at homewood suites and had a great stay. Good sized rooms, free breakfast, evening social (food and drinks) Monday-Thursday. We were able to make this our dinner on those nights. Also just a short walk to the toy story shuttle bus.

We've booked the Fairfield Inn for our stay next week. We used Honest Hotel Reviews on You Tube to help us decide where to stay.
It's my Husband's 50th next week and we wanted somewhere near but a bit special, so have booked the premium room

We stayed at the Sheraton Park hotel in 2009 and we will be staying there again in June. It’s only about a 10-15 minute walking from the parks too.😁👍

We stayed in the Extended Stay America (Anaheim Convention Centre) last August. Fairly modest hotel, but clean and quiet and importantly for us the rooms are spacious and have a kitchenette (hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, etc). Having breakfast facilities in the room meant we could be up and out with the minimum of fuss, and get to the parks easily before opening. Room cost $93 per night, and was a 10-15 minute walk from the parks entrance, about 3/4 of a mile. It would have been nicer to stay in one of the hotels a little closer, not least because the walk back to the hotel and the end of a tiring theme park day felt longer than 3/4 of a mile, but we couldn't find anything similar at that budget price.

Next-door to the ESA is a Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, PF Changs and a few other restaurants, if you didn't want to eat in the parks. Free parking included with the room rate at the Extended Stay, coffee/tea and muffins free of charge for a grab and go breakfast, and walkable distance means you don;'t have to pay for Disney parking ($17 a day, IIRC). It was the second time we'd stayed at the Extended Stay America, and I'd be happy to stay there again.
