Fast Passes Universal
Hi, what sort of price are fast passes for Universal, and possibly a daft question, are they worth it ?

Express passes range in price depending on which park you want (or both) and when you are going. You can see the price for the dates you want on their website - here.
For us they are worth it. You can also stay a night at Royal Pacific, Hard Rock or Portofino Bay hotel and get the unlimited express passes for 2 days. This can work out cheaper depending on how many of you are going. |

Whether they are worth it depends on when you go and what your queuing threshold is. As above we like to stay at a Universal deluxe hotel if at all possible so we get them included. Often we don’t need them but I like to know we can get on most rides with minimal wait.

When are you going?
When we were there in December, although we had express pass, we didn’t need it as most things had less than 20 min wait- even hulk, FJ, Gringotts etc. But in summer we’ve found it so much better with express pass as queues can get long. We stay at one of Universal hotels to get express pass. 😊 |

I would never go without staying at a hotel to get Express Pass now. even at quiet times of the year it makes for a FAR more enjoyable time as you can have repeat rides on your favourites. We did Spiderman about 6 times one day!

The other advantage is being so close to the parks and being able to enjoy Citywalk in the evening. I feel like our Universal experience is enhanced by staying onsite.

Have you had a look at universal hotel availability(RPR, HRR, PBR) for one night during your stay?
It really is a great way to get express pass/early entry & be nice & close to the parks. Wait times for a lot of the main attractions that we went on last June/July were around 30-45 mins in the early morning and an hour and up by late morning. |

Thanks for all your replies, yes I have had a look, price wise is over $500, we normally stay in a villa but we are staying i drive this time, I'm thinking as we are staying on i drive we are more likely to have more visits to the parks, so will get on everything we need to, but on the other hand the option to not be queuing for hours potentially is very appealing also.
