There is usually a reason why a company won’t or can’t except credit card payments.

I wouldn’t pay anything unless you can afford to lose the lot

Try and talk with Charter to see what your options are.

Interesting that Virgin have a very different attitude to BA. I had an e-mail yesterday from Virgin reminding me my 10K balance was due in 30 days. I am certain I will be loosing my £600 deposit and my seat reservation money from what I read here. Such a shame. Main thing is to keep safe,

my understanding of this is they don't want to have to pay credit card fees since the law changed.

I’m going to try and get confirmation from my insurer that if I pay my final payment that they will pay out should either UK or USA still be on lockdown. Will keep you updated.

I paid deposit to Charter, £750 for us 3 , on credit card, they do not accept a credit card for final payment, and they charge 100 pounds per person cancellation fee, if I cancel I lose 1050 pounds, so will have to speak to them re options as balance if 8475 due mid May

Well as far as I’m concerned, if I get bad news from the insurance about them not paying out if I pay my final payment to Charter, Charter can sing for their £400 cancellation fee. They have not been very forthcoming with any info regarding our upcoming holiday, in fact I doubt I will ever book with them again in the future just because of their lack of help

As far as I am aware, if you pay your deposit by CC your whole holiday amount is protected even if you pay the remainder by another method which is why I am kicking myself for paying with debit card.

Please ensure you contact your bank so that they refuse any further request for funds from Charter.

They can’t request anymore funds from my bank without my card no. and security code. These should never be saved from a previous purchase.
