Agree with you about giving Orlando a miss for a while as this will be our 11th visit in 14 years. We want to redo the west coast trip we did 4 years ago as it was the best trip we’ve ever done, SanFran, Lake Tahoe, Death Valley, Vegas, Anaheim and LA.

The Lake District is beautiful and dog friendly and I can’t wait to go back there. It rained a bit and I didn’t care, doggy came on the ferry at Windermere, in all the pubs, down for breakfast and slept on our hotel bed!

I did the Lake District many years ago on a team building course with the organisation I worked for and enjoyed it (we stayed in a nice hotel and was drunk most of the time), but I would get bored going there for more than a day (my attention span isn't great).

I think Seaworld is suffering economically.
The day we went to Busch gardens, less than 2 weeks ago it was awful, half the rides closed and very few staff, we went on the train around the park they were more interested in pointing out the rides that were closed than anything else. Seaworld wasn't great but it was slightly better.

Sadly I think they close some the rides to save on staff costs and not because they are faulty, which is really unfair on the customers some of who have travelled a long way to enjoy all the rides and paid to do so. We did the feed the giraffe tour at Busch a couple of years ago, and what a big disappointment and waste of money that was. They took us out on an open back truck to the giraffe area, and at the point they drove us in, they drove another truck in to feed all the giraffes (not with passengers on board), so all the giraffes went to get fed, and they struggled to get a couple of giraffes to come to our truck. We literally got a leaf or two to feed them, and their main concern was that their photographer took pictures of us feeding them so they could make even more money out of us (the pictures weren't included in the tour price).

We far more enjoyed hand feeding the giaraffes at Longleat recently, and for £3 we got quite a few branches with leaves on to feed them (fraction of the cost of Busch and far more enjoyable).

No getting Drunk, take your doggy and go walkies everywhere! Ambleside Waterfalls, up to the top of Windermere, lots of pub grub. You’ll be too knackered to get bored!

I can't take my dog on holiday because she is 12 and a half and can't walk far, plus she howls if left on her own since our other doggy died. I love walking around the woods but my doggy is tired after 30 minutes, hence why I cycle around the woods now as I don't get much exercise with the old girl.

We went on boats on Windermere, and I'm sure we did Ambleside, but I was like Sue most of the time (drunk).

They said it was due to wind at the ride levels, there wasn't any, some high rides closed some not.

Nevermind though we still had some fun, worse things happen at sea!

We were thinking of getting her a doggy buggy, but decided against it (my wife said I already look like a mentalist without pushing a dog in a buggy).
