The best hotel, although there may be some disagreements, is the Sofitel connected to Terminal 5. Because it is very good, it is also pretty expensive, but a lovely way to start a holiday.
Beyond that, there are a whole load of hotels that are pretty much equidistant to the hotel, including the strip down Bath Road, that are all relatively inexpensive and do the job if your criteria for "best" actually means "quite cheap, well located and primarily somewhere functional just to sleep". A good compromise for us is the Hilton Terminal 5 - it's a very nice hotel, a step or two above many of the other more basic ones and has great food and drink options. It's actually situated just outside the M25, but is still very close to the airport. The regular hopper bus thing stops there, but we have never used that in 10+ stays at Heathrow - we just get an Uber. In most cases, if there's 3 or 4 of you, the Uber will actually be cheaper than buying bus tickets and it's a lot more convenient and comfortable. Direct link here >>> hilton/en/hotels/lhr...rt-terminal-5/ but you can often get a good price at Holiday Extras inclusive of parking, and your car remains in their car park for the duration. |

I do like the Sofitel at both Heathrow and Gatwick but for me they are simply too expensive for what is an arrive late and leave early just need a bed and a shower experience.
“Best airport stay” ever for me ever was Yotel , all of a minute from both check in and Costa . Woke early in my pod , checked in , grabbed coffee and returned to my tiny room for shower, bit of TV and surfing before ambling though security. |
