Virgin through third party
Anyone booked virgin via someone like last minute, and managed to upgrade to delight or premium. If so how did you manage it and at what cost.
Thanks |

Would be interested in this as well as we have seen a deal with loveholidays that's hard to pass up on for October 2021.

Just a warning. Are you aware Loveholidays has withdrawn from ABTA as they disagree with their stance regarding refunds.
I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. In fact I wouldn't book a flight in these uncertain times with any 3rd party supplier.

I have twice, once with VH and once with Netflights. Both times they were originally booked as a flydrive and both times I wanted to upgrade with miles. I had to pay the flight portion (actually, the whole balance with VH) in full and ask for the flights to be ticketed (not without risks as it makes it non-changeable I believe so ask about implications before you decide). Once they were ticketed, I managed to upgrade direct and use my miles and pay taxes.
The Netflights booking is one I still have and have changed a few timed due to Corona. Thats when it became tricky as both Virgin and NF said it was the others responsibility. Eventually I got a lovely Virgin agent who took full control of the booking but even now if I call up, they always tell me to go to NF first and I have to ask them to look at the notes on my booking. So, unless I was saving a lot, I'd prefer now to always book direct, especially now with all the uncertainty. But yes, it can be done |
