My son’s birthday is 5th, so we always kept the decs up for that! Tree still up now, but down tomorrow for bin collection on Tuesday. Plus I’m back to work then too.

English Heritage are suggesting that people follow the medieval custom of leaving them up until Candlemas on 2 February, to cheer people up!
I am one of those people who could happily have them up all year round,so am tempted to do this. Maybe just the tree.

Sadly it time to take down the tree and decs for another year today. Hope everyone had a good a Christmas as possible. For those that didn't I'm sure 2021 will be much better

Or wait till Candlemas?
Ours decs are down aside from the outside lights, which I plan to keep up for a while yet while it's still so dark |

I thought if you forgot to take down a Christmas dec by the end of today, then you had to leave it up till Easter?

Ours came down today.
DS had college online all morning, walked into the the lounge and looked almost crestfallen to see it was all gone. I half laughed and half felt a bit sad for him. It is nice to have everything off the surfaces to be honest.

All ours decs came down on Saturday. Put last of the boxes away today, seem to be loads!
We also took all the outdoor lights down today except 1 lot, kept them up to cheer the street up in these terrible times... |
