We have a table but eat with trays on our laps. We don’t use the table for anything now other than zoom calls. We are actually going to get rid of it and change that corner of our living room into a reading area with a nice armchair.
We don’t have people round as we do all the visiting, and if we were having food with others we would go out.

We eat every meal at the table except on a Saturday night as we have a takeaway.
I was brought up to eat at the table and so you should because it's good posture sat at that table while eating

We always eat at the table, even if I’m home alone I eat at the table. I think it’s more comfortable than balancing food on laps. Plus as a family, it’s more sociable to eat around the table.

My son’s fiancée came from a family that always ate on their laps but she now prefers to eat at the table too

We got rid of our table as it was only ever used at Christmas and Easter.

The only time we eat at a dining table is at those big old fashioned ones in Florida villas.

You could count on one hand how many times we have used our formal table at the Villa, I always wonder if people do. On the other hand we always eat outside if it's at all possible, even the rain doesn't stop us unless it's coming the wrong way.

We always use them on holiday. After you've cleared all the fake flower's and hundreds of fancy plates out the way, the big dining table is used anytime we eat in the villa.

If you're eating from your knees, you're almost certainly on a sofa and probably have the TV on.

We eat 5 out 7 main meals per week at the dining table, as it's the one time we can guarantee all being together with no other distractions, so family discourse happens.

The exceptions are Fun Food Friday and, errrrrm, Saturday too which will be meals like burger and fries or pizza which we tend to eat on the sofa whilst watching a film on the TV.

It would be a boring old world if everyone was the same 👍🏻 What ever suits best is the best option 👍🏻
Personally I can’t enjoy a meal in front of the tv or on my lap. I am too hunched over so I need to sit at a table or breakfast bar, on my own or with the family.
My dining room table is always dressed but I quite enjoy moving everything then cleaning and replacing it afterwards 🤣🤣
