Rosen point / international reviews on TripAdvisor
I've seen lots of positive reviews on here but on trip advisor they're appalling!
How much stock do you hold in TA reviews. Edited at 08:40 PM. |

Hi Tink
I do use TA to help me decide places to stay and visit. I like to see balanced reviews so e.g. "hotel was really good but the receptionist was a bit rude" etc. adds some veracity to it IMO, although maybe the smarter dodgy reviewers are doing this too now. Lol. I also like to see if the people have posted before and how balanced they are. For instance I was looking at a restaurant or a bar a year or 2 ago and it had amazing reviews, but a significant amount were first time posters and many went on about the bartender by name being fantastic. I use caution with 5 and 1 star reviews, but I don't totally discount them as they can provide some insight. In short, use with caution. Hope things are going as well as possible.

i tend to just look at uk posts, a bit more accurate. With regards rosen pointe stayed 8 times and booked for this August and always get the room and block i ask for. I guess after returning that many times and i have stayed at various locations from disney hotels and swan and dolphin. but for pure stuff across the road really like the rosen pointe best

We've only ever stayed at Rosen Pointe (about 6 times) facing idrive is better as its quieter, Stayed in most of the blocks and not really noticed any difference. Sometimes you get noisy people running past- teens/kids if there is a big group but having stayed in lots of UK hotels (airshow attendees ) that's something that can happen anywhere.
We're booked for onsite with Disney next time as we'd never done it but in future trips we will definitely return there. |

I take TA with a pinch of salt. Yes I read them to see if theres a recurring issue popping up but mostly people who go on to review things are there for a moan so you’ll always find more negative than positive in my opinion.
For what its worth we’ve stayed there about 4 times and never had any issues. Its a great base for both Disney and Universal and great of an evening when you both want a drink cos you can leave the car at the hotel and walk up i-drive |

We have stayed in both, prefer the quietness of Pointe but like the location of restaurants etc of International. I think when we do go back it'll be to International.
I dont often look at TA, I find that people are too quick to point out the negatives and not so many positives! |

I've stayed at the Rosen @ Pointe Orlando about 10 times and back when it was the Quality Inn Plaza, great hotel and location. Last stayed there in 2019 and the rooms are a bit dated but they are always clean and the staff have always been helpful and courteous.
Stayed in every block in the hotel, block A is next to the helicopter place but has great access to I-Drive for Millers and Walgreens, block G facing I-Drive was one of the best. Blocks facing the I4 might not be everyone's cup of tea but I like them for the great views of thunderstorms and also the fireworks at Disney (I live next to the M6 so don't notice the traffic noise ) I'd take more notice of reviews on the Dibb than Trip Advisor, seems to me people post negatively on there to see what they can get from the hotel. I always take TA reviews with a pinch of salt - sometimes when people give bad reviews on there it is clear that their expectations were too high for the price they were paying and the star rating of the hotel. For example, I've seen reviews of Premier Inns in this country where people complain about a lack of amenities!
I've stayed at both Rosen Inns and found them to be great for the price paid - I'm currently looking at a week in September and found a week in the one at Pointe for £350 on Hotelopia. The same week at All Star Movies for example is £983 on the Disney site, so for me it's a no brainer. Great restaurants close to it too which are good value. |
