VH - Credit where Credit is Due

I've never been their biggest fan but they pulled it out of the bag yesterday.

I cancelled my May booking (not with VH) and looked to rebook in November. No flights from my local airport at that time of year and as I want direct flights that means its pretty much Virgin flights from Manchester.

I was looking for 14 nights CSR with UC flights both ways (no tickets or car)

VH was coming in £600 cheaper than DIY with the WDTC and Virgin Atlantic.

I didn't really want to book online as I like to go look someone in the eye if I need anything but of course all the branches are closed.

The VH branch finder page gave me a number which I used to contact someone from my local store though and they said they could do a 'store booking'. Fantastic! I thought well it will be more expensive but I will ask them to price match the website. She then came back with a price around £250 cheaper than the online price. Then as I was about to book she asked if I could come back a day later, so 15 nights, I said yes and it turns out that this was another £250 cheaper!

So I now have CSR, UC flights both ways and an extra night, all for £500 less than if I had just clicked book on the webpage.

Oh - and once the branches open up again I have someone to look in the eye.

Now of course I just need the flamin holiday to go ahead...

Adam. Well done to you. Especially beating the DIY price and getting even more off.

How are things in work?

Well done.

Finger’s crossed Virgin survive this. Daily Mail reckons a well placed source said they’ll need at least another $1bn to keep going.

Would be a tragedy if it folds. Terrible situation now for airlines with the further travel bans. Even Eurostar is on the verge of going bust.

Haven’t booked to go to Florida with a virgin holidays before, but booked a fly drive with them for Miami August 2022 yesterday, in my excitement I put DD’s date of birth down wrong, so contacted them by whatapp and they have adjusted it already. Great service, so far.

Yeah, awful state the travel industry is in. Fingers crossed we come out of this with as many providers intact as possible

I have it on good authority that Euro* were expecting to carry about 300pax across 2 trains outbound today.

Normal capacity of Euro* train is 900pax.
