We are going for 2 weeks and have compromised at 1 day at universal to keep the cost down we are only going to one park, we are going at the end of August so hoping we won't need express passes - going without them anyway

I agree the price seems high for universal. Maybe see if you can get it down a bit.

Another alternative, if your sons like big rides might be to get a car and do a couple of days at sea world and Busch gardens as they have shorter lines and lots of exciting roller coasters and taking time to see the animals can make it a more relaxing day.

I don't see why it would cost £1500 to go to Universal. Also, it can be cheaper to book a night in the hotel than buy the Express Tickets. I've just booked Royal Pacific for Thursday night and paid just under £300 for one night for 3 adults and a teenager.

The Express passes were $135 each for just 1 day and these only allow you on each ride once. With the room we get 2 days worth of Front of Line Access. We're going to check in at 7am and then go straight to the park.

4 x Universal tickets would be nearly £1200 and then there's the hotel room on top. Unless there's a way of getting a two day ticket in the US much cheaper?

Orlandoattractions you can get 2 day park hopper for £220 each so £880 for 4 people. Just go to the worldwide ticket bit. We have used them before and they are great.

If you have to choose - I would drop Disney and put Universal top of the list.

Stayed for 3 nights at the Hard Rock last year - early park entry and front of the queue - best 3 nights we have had in Orlando for many years.

When the new Universal park opens Disney will be forced to up their game - I think they have been very complacent over the last few years and taken their popularity for granted.

I agree with the suggestion of just buying tickets.. weve never had express passes and always found it fine ( apart from boxing day 2016 when we left the park after 2 hours it was soooo busy! )

I love Disney.. however I couldn't do it for the full two weeks.

100% get Universal and IOA in if you can.
