I have two kids so I put a toliet break into the plan every hour and set the walking pace to as slow as possible and our plan still felt like it was always going away from us. The plans presume your just doing ride - walk - ride - walk. You need to add in some sensible breaks into it and then they work even better. Two days into our trip i modified them based on my experience (only slightly with some breaks and taken a couple of things out) and then the plans worked much better to reality.

I would recommend add a 10 min break every hour to space the plan out and also under plan a day by a couple of hour. One hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon to buy yourself to shop and just enjoy the place.

Good luck
Thanks, really appreciate your advice as you are more experienced than I am!

We have a couple of natural breaks in the plan (eg, one for 75 minutes mid afternoon after a show) so the plan is to try and manually add in some 10 minute breaks to spread that gap out and hope that the wait times don't increase drastically. We also have a fair chunk of time for going around Diagon Alley / Hogsmeade as that is why we are visiting (doubt we would be going if it wasn't for the HP bits). We have no kids and don't mind rushing about a bit as we are under no illusions that this will be the busiest day of the holiday.

Agree with OP -set everything to slowest walking time and add on a bit of extra time to each break.

My usual plan involves doing both parks in the same day and starting in the opposite park. I head straight to the local HP area to hit the headliners and get the hogwarts express to the other park and do the other one.

Neither park really warrants much of a plan IMO. They're fairly straightforward to get everything in within two days.

Orlando Informer has a touring plan which covers both parks in one day and it’s free. You can always have a look at that and compare with what you’ve planned with Touring Plans.

There are two day plans on the website as discussed in my previous post. The link above takes you to one. They're prepared in two parts but have the link to the 2nd part embedded in the general info
