As our son has loads of medical equipment so we have 4 boxes plus an 'out of the box' item
means we do not have to take all this stuff every year

I would always recommend using the padlocks in addition to the cable ties they supply.
Back in 2014 John made them available for purchase and they are so much more secure. Of course you could buy your own but his were cheaper! Last November we saw a Bell Service cart driving along in SSR with a locker on the back and its lid was up at least 6" with clothes hanging out!

Ali.
This is the E Mail we had way back in 2014 Because we have been asked more than once about locks for Lockers…we thought we should do our homework and come up with an option for you. We like to say that if a Locker is used properly, it takes two people to seal it…one to sit on the Locker and the other to put the seal on. The problem is that breakable seals are…well, they’re breakable…sometimes when you don’t want them break. Other times, they can be devilishly hard to break. It seems like no matter what we try, there have been issues with seals for Lockers. Zip ties have to be cut off, which is an issue in a studio or hotel room. And, more than once we have had problems with suppliers (like we did recently) and have had to scramble to find an alternative. We have looked at locks several times and we think it’s time to look again. We like to listen and the message we are receiving is that breakable seals are not the right answer for many Owner’s Locker Members. A lot has changed in the world of luggage locks since we launched Owner's Locker in 2007. For starters, they didn’t really even exist then. Thanks to the TSA, there are now lots of luggage locks that will work on your Locker. We’ve had a look and have tested several and have purchased a quantity of Master brand luggage locks (see above). We can supply them to you at $7.50 each (tax included) if you would like to use them instead of or in addition to the numbered, breakable seals. If you would like a lock or locks delivered with you Locker instead of seals just let us know in the special notes section when you schedule a Visit. We’ll charge the card you have on file and stick them in the plastic pouch on the rear of your Locker. If you want to stay with the seals, you don’t have to do a thing. We’ll keep including them with every delivery. If you’d like to discuss, lock and seals…or anything else, we’re always here to listen…we’ve learned that you’re smarter than we are about a lot of things. John and the crew at Team Purple This is the type they are so either give John a shout or get something like these. They MUST have the wire loop to get through where the cable tie goes. Handy with a combination - no keys! amazon/Approved-Lu...SE1NQFMXEZVWN6

Now BA do great hand luggage only fares with a huge baggage allowance we find the Owners Locker invaluable.
We keep a teapot, washing powder, cutlery, ponchos, bumbags, water bottles and clips, toiletries, underwear, beach towels, swimming costumes, flipflops and t-shirts as well as adapters and cables, maps and guidebooks. It just saves us dragging the same stuff backwards and forwards across the Atlantic. |

We ordered our first locker last August when we arrived. We ended up with so much stuff we ordered a second one on our last day. They were so helpful delivering it last minute.
Our hope eventually is that we’ll be able to travel hand luggage only particularly the way flights are being priced now so the cost is worthwhile plus I detest packing! We left clothes, shoes, flip flops, umbrella, ponchos, electric toothbrushes, razors etc in one and the other had a kettle, Keurig, egg poacher/boiler, glasses, plates, cups, cutlery, sharp knives and scissors, washing liquid pods, tumble dryer sheets and probably loads more

Thanks everyone - I know its a bit pricey but definitely think we may do it - we want to buy kettle and sandwich toaster for in the room and have breakfast in the room and definitely want to be at a point where I don't need my usual list of Florida stuff! that I have to pack - Just think it will make life easier.
Just waiting for the account to be set up now. |
