Cheap Hertz through Costco

I've been looking at quotes for 8 days in the summer and noticed that some Hertz locations that are slightly further out from the main tourist areas are much cheaper.

For example the loactions at Kissimmee East (715 E Vine St) and Tropical Ford (Orange Blossom Trail) have a Luxury Car for £342 for 8 days (dropping off at Tampa airport) compared to £722 at the "Disney World" branch (7471 W. Irlo Bronson Mem. Hwy).

Minivan £279 compared to £451

All the prices are via Costco.

I'm a firm believer in "if something is too good to be true..." so wondering if I'm missing anything? Seems worth a $25-30 dollar Uber for the saving.

Sounds good to me then, looks like you're just getting a good deal by avoiding 'tourist premium'

I noticed this a couple of weeks ago but it was booking direct with Hertz or AutoEurope (I did post a thread about the possibility of picking up elsewhere but no one replied so I thought maybe my question was a bit too specific). I does seem a bit of a bargain .. although we eventually decided to collect from the airport. Sorry I’m not much help but it did include all the usual insurances, etc.

Costco UK is fine, quite a few have used them albeit it's not one of the more popular suppliers on here for some reason.

Thanks for replies

Just seems too big a difference for travelling a few miles!

If we got a car we weren't happy with could we swap at another branch? We're probably heading to the gulf coast for the last week so wouldn't be in the area.

Being 'unhappy' with a car wont get you a swap. If it pulls to the left they will swap it though.

As all the prices are via the same supplier and website then it does look like this is a case of supply and demand. So just get an uber to take you to the pick up location and you will still come out on top.
As for swapping the car , the same rules should apply no matter were you pick up from. It could be that this location may have a limited choice to start with.

Thanks. The downside of picking up from a smaller branch must be the lack of choice. Good to know that if it picks up a "fault" it could be swapped at another branch.
