Although we booked flights and accommodation ages ago I was a bit tardy booking the car so only got it a few weeks ago for our trip first two weeks of August - was a bit of a 'gulp' moment when it was £900.
Booked it with Alamo Brits and paid £851 for 18 days.

Thanks - I guess the extra 4 days over 2 weeks bump it up.

I'd never looked at pricing for these vehicles before and was thinking, even bearing in mind we're going in August, it would be £600ish for 2 weeks. So £900 was a bit of a shock.

We're on-site for the first week and it's likely to be little used which seems massively extravagant but we've always had a car available to allow the odd 'escape'!
