Thinking of taking hand luggage only, any tips please?

Hi,

As we are in a villa, we've had the idea to just take hand luggage to get out of the airport asap.

I was just wondering if any people that regularly do this have any tips about toiletries, etc., such as are plastic disposable razors allowed?

Thanks in advance.

I could never go to Florida with handluggage only both ways as I bring my body weight of merchandise back with me! Not including all the candy 😳😳

We've never gone to US hand luggage only but done it plenty of times in Europe.

Obvious thing is to get the largest possible case that still fits into the dimensions. Disposable razors are fine. As for the rest of your toiletries we do one of two things; either buy them in the airport once you're through security (no good for indirect) and/or buy them once you get there.

Being able to waltz off at the airport instead of waiting for bags is absolutely brilliant.

I think you can take disposable razors in hand luggage. We took hand luggage only when we went to Spain last year for one week. We were two adults and two children so all had a carry on and used their cases for our clothes too. I said to DH I wouldn't do it again, I found it too stressful in terms of what you are allowed to pack in hand luggage, the minimal space, keeping luggage with you all the time, rather than getting rid of it and relaxing, and wondering if you'll be able to fit it in overhead lockers or if everyone will have taken the space.

For Florida we would certainly struggle to fit everything in hand luggage (I realise that's just us - I like to pack us (esp the children) a few footwear options for sore feet from all the walking. We took three large suitcases last year, and bought back four large cases due to the souvenirs the children bought. Just us, I'm sure you could make it work, but for me personally, too stressful.

Coordinate colours, roll or use packing cubes, pack for a week, you have a washing machine. If in doubt ... leave it out !
Toiletries, disposable razors all from Walgreens.

Based on years of experience long before it became "a thing" I hate waiting for bags

Thanks all, our party will consist of basically 4 adults as my partner's "kids" will be 21 & 19 so at least we won't have kids' stuff to pack

You can place an order online at Boots to collect airside. It means having to carry it with you but the 100ml limits will not apply.

We have travelled 'hand baggage only' for some years with our three weeks usually split between three different villas (we like to move around and try different areas). Must admit our WDW days are now behind us as we've experienced it with our children and latterly grandchildren and we will normally head for the gulf coast. My wife is the expert packer and will have everything packed at least a couple of months in advance. The attached (hopefully) shows our luggage ready for our May/June trip and the only extra will be a pair of trainers in the 'zip out' base of the black bag. Admittedly we don't bring many purchases back other than maybe a couple of polo shirts.
