That seems like a lot of money ... *but*...

As a total treat a few years ago we did Club World on the way out and WT+ on the way back, having only flown economy before. The WT+ cabin on the way home was small, quiet, serene and we had extra leg room (which was essential on the way home for us as it turned out as my DH had a run in with a brown recluse spider in Florida which meant that he had a hospital stay and we were seriously worried about deep vein thrombosis). We were ready for sleep and I remember needing the bathroom and opening the curtain to go down to World Traveller to use the bathroom at the back of the plane... It was like a whole different world in there!

Okay I exaggerate slightly (and we've only flown economy since so don't think I am being down on that at all) but ...

It was noisy & bright - not what you need on a night flight home! The WT+ cabin was quiet, tranquil & comfortable in comparison.

So if I could afford it, I'd do it.

OMG my return WT Plus fare only cost me £698 in the September BA sales. I'm glad I booked when I did as the cost is double in the current sales for when I'm going next month.

What is the difference between Virgin PE and BA WT+
Depending what plane you get on BA, WT+ is little more than extra leg room seats. The newer planes do have seat upgrades for WT+ but they're still far behind the Virgin PE seats which are 21" wide and very comfortable. Couldn't tell you about meal differences as special diets means I get the same muck as economy anyway.

As for OP, I wouldn't pay 1k for WT+ especially if it's on an older plane which they typically use on the LGW routes. It's worth about half that at the most, IMO, unless the leg room was an absolute deal breaker.

I agree with some of this, but you'll find that as the refurbs on the LGW 777's progresses, you're finding more and more of the MCO flights are the refurb planes.

When you log into MMB if you are eligible you will see a little revolving banner add at the top of the page, and it will be one of the three or four images that rotate on there. I'll try and post here.

True, I should have added that I don't fly BA out of Gatwick so I don't keep up to date with the refurb schedule - had actually forgotten about it.

I have flown on LHR planes with the new cabins and still don't think I'd pay 1k for them though.

Only fly BA out of LGW or LGW at all for Orlando, and this will by my first with them for a while, but most reports on here and youtube videos I've seen now seem to feature more of the refreshed cabins than the old crusty one. Excited to try something new. But don't think I would be paying more than £500 for the honour.

I have 2 flydrives booked with BA this year, April into Ft Lauderdale and November into Tampa, both booked in the sale and I have upgraded on the homeward trip on both flights, it cost me £100 each (£200) for 2 people per trip, as well as more space etc in the cabin it also means we get double luggage allowance so we save £120 on DH's golf club carriage therefore it has only cost £80.

We were upgraded for free flying home with BA from Bangkok. On landing we both said we wouldn't pay for it. This was a couple of years ago, they might have improved the product since then.
