I’ll second this. We flew in and out of Miami with Virgin last year. Four of us (kids 17 & 14) for just under £1500 booked through Netflights.

As well as skyscanner I would also look at Netflights.

We were in the same position as you about two years ago, I held on and held on and watched the prices rise and rise and ended up paying about £600 more in the February than the original price we saw the previous November. I understand the need to fly direct with children not pleasant after 9 hours when they are tired and grumpy and you're still not there. This time around I set a budget for the flights and anything that came up lower was a bonus. We ended up getting BA return flights to Tampa last September with three weeks car hire (intermediate) for £3500 for August which I was happy with. Have to say since then I can't find anything below £4,000. Tampa was a lovely airport and we would have been out really quick but my eldest threw up after exiting the plane and we ended up last in the immigration hall - still went quickly, the problem was when we went to get the car hire we were back of the queue and it took over an hour to get to a counter. This time round I am signing up to the car hire loyalty club in the hopes that we can skip the counter part.

Set a price in your head and when you find something that fits go with it and then you can move on the the next things to worry about like what Fastpasses do I need and where shall we eat.

Norwegian direct is quite reasonable.

If you could adjust your dates by 1 day you could fly direct with TC from Gatwick on 14th Aug and return on 28th Aug - cost for 3 adults and 2 children including luggage would be £3943.90.

Also don’t want hassle of a car and car seats etc. Flight prices for 3 adults and 2 chn coming in over £5000 which to me seems outrageous! Hubby wants to just get it booked though. What are people’s thoughts, do we keep holding out or just book now? Help!
Bet you can do it for £4k with a car indirect.

£4k - indirect - 3 adults, 2 kids - FULL SIZE Suv (Car hire alone is worth £800+ or a Premium SUV !

Ideal indirect flights into Miami and then up to Tampa

Loads of options - see below...

RickT.. that is a brilliant deal. If I was not already sorted, then I would have snapped their hands off!
