I am swaying towards an onsite package as if we dont get a car means we also dont need to worry about taking car seats with us etc.

Am I better off waiting until 2021 if its going to be busy and maybe more expensive? Although I dont think I can wait that long - I have already been waiting 3 years ha ha.

I am more swayed to may if its quieter - do you think the WDW prices are accurate right now? I guess the one thing you can never control is the weather. I know my nail lady went at Easter and it was boiling

We are doing two weeks onsite in May with a four year old. Two weeks, imho, is not too much. No car either so should we decide to go elsewhere UBER or Lyft

For me personally onsite is a better option but it’s the free DDP that swings it.

I wouldn't wait till 2021 in the hope it will be quieter. FOP still has 4 hour queues after how many years? GE is not going to be any less busy 1 or 2 years later imo.

If you are edging to staying onsite for your stay wait till april and hope the ddp is released. Book up asap after release as some of the room types go quick.

My suggestion is to book your room for only 1 person, but book it for a few extra days. So if you want to go for 14, book 17 or 18 nights, but for 1 person. Then when you find flights and firm up your dates you can amend the booking, cut down the days, add the extra people - but as you are adding 3 more people your total price will still go up so no amendment fee to pay.

We did 2 weeks onsite in October 2017 with ddp after doing a villa previously and wouldn’t do Disney any other way. Loved being in the bubble and sharing a room with a 7 & 5 yr old was no bother.
This year we have a budget trip due to reward flights so have a villa but we’re just doing universal and seaworld. Next year we hoping ddp is released and will book onsite just Disney for two weeks again, can’t wait.
We always book DIY and go October half term as my kids get a longer break then.
Happy planning

Thanks all. That’s fab advice on booking for one person. Trying to tie in flights is hard work ha ha!

Is it usually early April for ddp?

I’ve started looking at the resorts again (did this a few years back) would love beach club, wl, or contemporary but I think Por or Pofq will be more our budget

We did Port Orleans Riverside and loved it. Food court was great, no issues with buses and the boat to Disney Springs was lovely.
I too would love one of the monorail resorts, WL or beach club but can’t justify the price unfortunately so POR it will be again but honestly it’s a lovely resort and we’re looking forward to returning.

Ah that’s great to know. How does it compare to French quarter? It’s a massive price hike isn’t it! I’d rather put that money to a return trip ha ha

The French quarter is much smaller and more compact. We used the pool which the kids loved and their food court was nice.
I’ve not looked at prices for next year yet but wouldn’t hesitate to stay at either it will all come down to price!
