We are the same - I think they will be too full now so we may end up getting our money back and then have to try and book on one of their flights - which will probably cost more
We’re not going until October so I guess we will have ages to wait to personally know what they will do but interesting to hear what happens as others start to get contacted. |

You probably know this but if you "choose" to cancel you may not get a full refund.

If they were due to fly from Gatwick, then the flight already is 'cancelled' and they are entitled to a refund if they decline a Heathrow flight.

They are not 'cancelled' unless they are actually cancelled. I already replied this on the other thread but the only thing VS would have to do under EC 261/2004 if the flights are moved to Heathrow is to provide transport between Gatwick and Heathrow, or cover the cost of the transfer if passengers request it.
The likely scenario is that they will keep the same flight numbers and the same bookings but change the aircraft type and the departure airport from Gatwick to Heathrow. None of this is a cancellation. That said, maybe they will offer refunds to those who request one, but legally they are not obliged to. |

I think that they would say it is a minor change so it would not necessarily be cancelled especially if it keeps the same flight number.
