Fairfx card lost in post
We fly on Wednesday and I've just found out our fairfx card has been lost in the post. We won't have time to get another one.
We already have half our money in cash I didn't really want to take the lot in cash but looks like we might have to. Can I use my Natwest visa debit card over there? If I inform my bank is visa debit widely accepted over there? |

No because it takes a 3-5 working days for them to make the card

Any card that is "visa" linked will be fine but I would be concerned re cloning etc which is widespread in the US. Not so bad with a credit card but with a debit card much more hassle. Never let the card out of your sight, get staff to bring card reader to you. Travellers cheques perhaps? Asda etc will set you up a pre-paid card instore.

I believe your Visa card will be fine but if you wanted a cashcard I had a Thomas Cook cashcard a few years ago and the rate wasn't as good as fairfx but I believe they give you the card there and then if you apply for it in the shop? Hope you sort something out 😊

NatWest charge 2.75% on every non sterling transaction so it could be quite expensive. There is also an additional fee for ATMs overseas

Could you try and get a post office card from a post office and then fill it up inside the post office?

Could you not order a new card and get it delivered straight to your hotel or villa?

your card will be fine , just remember if you are with drawing cash ( sometimes other transactions) put it down as a credit card as debit won't work
