Hermes - is this wierd?

Around 10am this morning there was a knock at the door followed immediately by someone trying to open the door - it was locked so couldn't be opened.

I was in the hallway when it happened so answered the door within seconds. The guy gave me a parcel and was quickly on his way.

All I can think is that he has so many deliveries he doesn't want to wait around for someone to answer the door so if the door was unlocked he could put the parcels inside? Must say I've never had someone do this before so thought it was wierd!

I'm not sure where you live but i'm in Wiltshire and have had this happen quite a few times, we usually have our front door unlocked if we are "in" and often go into the hall to see a parcel on the floor, not sure I like the idea but then really we should remember to keep our door locked

This is why I wont have door handles on exterior doors that can be opened just by the handle alone. Can be a pain I know but so much safer.

Yeah. Our door is always locked as well so no luck but my friend never locks hers and often comes down from a shower or sorting the baby and there's a parcel on the mat.

We had that happen once at our old house, my son was homie and by the time he got downstairs to answer the door there was a parcel in the hallway and the driver was gone!

I dont know whether people that leave doors unlocked live in super safe areas but i never leave any doors unlocked! I even lock the patio door if i go away from the kitchen!
We recently had a new front door and its one that cant be opened from outside without a key so works even better!

We live in a super safe rural area. The backdoor is usually unlocked other than at night. The front door locks when shut but if it didn't I would be horrified if I came downstairs and found somebody had put a parcel inside.
