The drive to DLP is just under 3.5 hours from Zeebrugge - I’ve done the Hull ferry a couple of times and the convenience from the North was totally worth it. It’s been a few years, but the last time the cost was not much different to the cost of tunnel, overnight hotel and petrol costs.

We love the overnight ferry from hull. We booked the double bed club cabin last time. Very pleasant. It certainly beats that 7 hour drive to Dover from the lakes. Price wise we looked at the drive, diesel in the UK and premier inn on both legs.

Thanks for everyone’s super useful replies. The overnight ferry isn’t something I had considered. We still undecided but plenty time to decide.

How far in advance do you book the overnight ferry. Had a quick look and only goes up to December at moment is 3 months normal?

I dont think anything is normal at the moment. The last time i booked, it was months in advance. These are strange times now.

We always prefer to travel the day before, and spend the night near Disney than travel down to Dover and stay over for the morning ferry.
That way you can do the village on the night (depending on how late you get there) and get straight into the parks for early hours, being fully fresh.
