Our wedding is 16 days away. The anxiety is hitting me like the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon!

Please tell me your favourite wedding stories. Happy ones. Funny ones. Shocking ones. Or just some advice. Anything to help me feel better at this point! 😭

On our wedding, my cousin...who could do no wrong, was poking a wasp nest...obviously made them angry and they stung her brother on his nether regions! 😱🤣

Was at a fab wedding where the bride's father said during his speech to his daughter: "You look grand - Twenty grand".

My mother’s “borrowed” item was the veil her friend had worn. Bent over to cut the cake and ignited said veil from candle on the table!

Congratulations! You’ll have an amazing day, everything will come together so don’t worry. My garter fell off when I got to the top of the aisle and god knows what possessed me but I made a slightly smutty comment and threw it over my shoulder at everyone sitting behind me! The Vicar was horrified, his face was a picture 🙈 it must have been the nerves and excitement getting to me 🤣

It will all be amazing.

My middle son got married 2 weeks ago and both his brothers were supposed to be best men. My youngest is in the navy and was on deployment and due home at the end of July.

Due to the Iran crisis his ship was sent to the area and he couldn’t make the wedding. As you can imagine it was quite devastating.

Without telling anyone we produced a full size cardboard cut out of him at the speeches.There was lots of tears and laughs. He is in many photos ha ha.

My husband spilled a full pint of Guinness over me! Fortunately it was at the end of the night. Put dress in bath of cold water and washed it - it was fine. The shoes however ended up in the bin! 🍺

I had an emergency appendectomy 9 days before I got married. I was in hospital in London and wedding was back home in Scotland. DH's family rallied round and got us all up there somehow.

I had alerted hospital that I was allergic to fabric elastoplast, but woke up after op to find canula in my left hand covered in the stuff. So on wedding day i had ugly red itchy rash all over my left hand and wrist. Tried my best to cover it up in the photos. However, needn't have bothered as our photographer lost 2/3rds of our wedding photos! My mum made sure his name was mud around town for many years afterwards!

We catered a wedding many years ago, the father of the bride gave a speech the like of which I've never heard, he droned weird garbage on and on for 15 minutes, he lost the guests a few minutes in, people glazed over, were fidgety, covering grins with hands - we had to turn away as I started to giggle which set the table off in front of us.
