Coronado Springs resort

We have been for a walk around csr today and are amazed at how fast they are getting on with the hotel. We were here last December and there was nothing to see and now the framework is up. They are also building a new bridge which crosses the lake from the main pool to the hospitality house.

Lovely photos, thanks for posting. We are booked to visit CSR next spring so are hoping that the work continues to progress at such speed. In particular, it would be nice to have the bridge completed, to shorten the walk across the site. We are by no means counting on that though, and are preparing ourselves for some serious walking in the parks AND at the resort :-)

Lovely to see and I second the hopes for the bridge being completed - though we're going to request Casitas or Cabanas I think.

We just want the refurbished rooms though. They're so gorgeous.

I know, they really are lovely! From what I can find online the Casitas are all refurbished, but only one of the Cabanas buildings completed so far. You're there a about 3 months later than us, and by then I think there's a good chance all the room should have been refurbished. I'm contemplating an upgrade to a preferred room nearer the time if the room refurbishment is still ongoing to make sure we get a refurbished room - the new rooms, and in particular the hardwood flooring, were what drew us to the CSR. I really dislike old hotel carpet, and together with the humidity in Florida, I think it would be really harsh on my sinus-challenged husband.

From what we saw they are well on with the refurbishment of the Cabanas.

Very helpful post

We are booked Sept 2019 and watching progress with great interest.

Once complete the Hotel will be on a par with a Delux, minus a few bells and whistles. Certainly the best moderate by a long stretch.

We're staying at CSR in Feb 19 so not expecting it to be finished by then.

How do you go about requesting a certain area? and are the preferred rooms a lot more expensive?

If my memory serves me right, it was about £300 more for 10 nights. Neither standard nor preferred rooms are now available for our dates though, so can't check rates.

As for room request, I think you can put a request with your travel agent/disney direct, and also make specify some general preferences if doing online check-in (just what I read online - this our first WDW trip so can't advise from personal experience).
