Well I only have a sample size of one, but it is first hand evidence. It was certainly the case for us that we paid once, got printed photo's and a digital copy on a USB stick. They did promise to retake it if required, but it was accepted. They might have retaken it there and then come to think of it.

Sorry - just getting back to this. If you used something like an iPhone for the photo - do I need to crop it to a specific shape or can you adjust it - to resize or centre it when you up load it?

Once you’ve taken the photo on your phone it crops it for you. You can’t alter it yourself.

We used Snappy Snaps and sent it in the shop. It was accepted.

We just did it on my iPhone6

First picture taken showed as ‘ good’ ( it was automatically cropped to show a smaller area than my picture showed ) so I proceeded with the application . Had to send the old passport in the post

Not heard back as yet so hoping everything ok

I have just done mine as well yesterday. It took a few shots to get one in the "green" (good).
It seems I have to send off my old UK passport AND my Irish passport. Will do that in the morning when the post office opens.

I did mine today. First one was ‘poor’ and claimed I was smiling with a shadow- it was none of those things. Did it again in different light and it went to good.
