Walmart and selling alcohol to Brits

So my wife follows several Orlando Facebook pages and has done for many years now. She's been reading several posts from people saying when they've went to Walmart recently the staff have refused to sell them alcohol as they are British and that they are only selling alcohol to Americans or Canadians... surely that's a lot of nonsense?

Any Brits in Orlando at the moment had any issues getting alcohol from Walmart recently?

I'd say that's nonsense! Sometimes they ID you (not always) but I can assure you I bought many, many bottles of wine & beer just 2 weeks ago from several branches of Walmart.

Were the Brits that were refused with children?

Personally I can't see Wal-Mart getting into a discrimination argument.

Bearing in mind the amount of people who live in Orlando that are neither American or Canadian then the place would be losing a lot of money... and Walmart like to make money.

You may have a point there...even if they were with 20 year olds they could potentially be refused if they thought the booze was for them. Although having said that I've never had an issue buying it

I'll need to see if I can get her to show me the posts. She claims it's came from several different people. I told her myself I'd suspect it's nonsense but just wanted to gauge opinions on here.

I also have been reading the other site, and lots of comments on there about it. Started this week.
Will see if can find posts and the tweets that people have had in return from the company

Here now, and it’s true, DW got refused alcohol last night and was told unless you have American or Canadian id you won’t get served alcohol or tobacco regardless of age, the server had sold us alcohol up until yesterday and said it was a new policy. This was Walgreens at pointe, DW is 45 and had Uk passport as ID.
