BA Cancellation

Just received an e-mail from BA telling me my 13.25 flight LGW-MCO on 22nd June has been cancelled - no reason given, and after over half an hour waiting in Customer Services queue, posting here may be bring a quicker answer.
Return flight is still showing live so I am assuming the am & pm flights are being combined rather than cancelled as a direct result of the virus.
It would be nice to be given the reason rather than speculate - still in the queue as I am typing.
Anyone else received similar information?

We are returning (maybe) BA MCO-LGW on 16th June. Should be two flights that day but they have just cancelled ours and put us on earlier flight. Reducing capacity?

24th June 13:25 LGW - MCO gone down too.
Options on website for LHR/MIA/MCO but can't get through to call centre to find out options. Prioritising on flights due in 48 hours.
I am sure it will sort itself out in time

We are flying BA in June, 2 of our internal flights cancelled by AA. Just phoned up BA and they rebooked us on other flights which were actually better for us

We got an email to say the Heathrow - Edinburgh leg of our return flly drive package has been cancelled. The date of that is 5th April.
No point in trying to get through to them at the moment we think, as we know they will be snowed under sorting THIS weeks flights out , so we are holding fire for now assuming they will be booking us on to another flight that day and will advise us.
We do fly out next Saturday though so hope to hear soon.

Their website seems to have a new amendment section but it wanted to charge me £2k to move the flights to August! When I booked Easter was more expensive than August!

BBC reporting an email has gone to all BA staff from the CEO talking about "saving BA " - mentions flight cancellations at a level never seen before and staff layoffs.

Thanks all for the info, clearly they have done it before. My first time with BA, not ideal as travelling from the north it will need 2 x single accommodations the night prior to departure; we will have to see what is on offer.
